Recipe Ingredients:
- Beckti Fish 4 fillets
- Plain flour 1 cup
- Rice flour 1 + 1/4 cup
- Baking powder 1 tbsp
- Fresh black pepper 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Soda water chilled 1 can
- Egg 1
For the tartar sauce
- Mayonnaise 1 cup
- Dill fresh chopped 1/2 tsp.
- Capers 5 to 6 chopped
- Hot sauce 1 tsp.
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Mustard 1 tbsp.
- Gherkins 2 tsps. chopped
Recipe Method:
- Dry fish fillets well.
- In a bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper together.
- Coat the fillets with the extra rice flour making sure to dust of any excess flour.
- Heat oil in a wok, and deep fry the fish.
- Whisk the flour mixture along with the egg and soda to form a smooth batter.
- Dip the fish in the batter and then into the hot oil, make sure to swirl it around once after adding to the oil. Remove on paper towels.
- Serve with lemon wedges, tartar sauce and malt vinegar.
Method Of Tartar Sauce:
- Whisk all ingredients together, store in the fridge for an hour before serving.
