Mulligatawny Soup

Recipe Ingredients: 

  • Onions chopped 2 tbsp.
  • Butter 2 tbsp.
  • Gram flour roasted 4 tbsp.
  • Chilli powder 1 tsp.
  • Tomato 1 finely chopped
  • Salt 1 tsp.
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Curry leaves 15
  • Vinegar 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic 1/2 tsp.
  • Turmeric 1 tsp.
  • Stock 4 cups
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp.

Recipe Method:

  • Heat butter, fry onion light golden add ginger garlic paste with chopped tomatoes and fry well.
  • In a bowl whisk vinegar, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, bay leaf, stock and curry leaves, make paste with gram flour (add water if required).
  • Add the paste in the soup slowly while stirring.
  • Let the soup cook till the right consistency.
  • Remove from fire and add lemon juice.
  • Strain the soup.
  • Add few pieces of boiled shredded chicken, boiled rice to the soup
  • Serve hot with lemon slices
