Recipe Description:
Rice cooked in all spices having the subtly sour tinge of yogurt with flavor of green chilies and nutrients potatoes and peas make a perfect chicken tahari.
Recipe Ingredients:
- Rice ½ kg soaked for 20 minutes
- Chicken boneless 1/2 kg cubes
- Kisan Sunflower Cooking Oil 1/2 cup
- Onion chopped 1 cup
- Salt 1 1/2 tsp.
- Yogurt 1 cup
- All spices 1/2 tsp.
- Potatoes 2 cut into square pieces
- Coriander powder 1 tsp.
- Cumin powder 1 tsp.
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
- Chilli powder 1 tsp.
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp.
- Green chillies 3 whole
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp.
- Peas 1/2 cup
Recipe Method:
- Heat oil in the pan to fry onions till light golden in colour.
- Add all spices with garlic and ginger paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add potatoes and chicken and let the mixture simmer till tender.
- Add yogurt and peas in the sauce and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add rice and exact double amount of water in the pan. Add green chillies and cook on high heat till the water evaporates and you can see little bubbles on the surface.
- Now let the rice steam for another 10 minutes on dum (indirect slow cooking technique), cover the pan with a lid. Serve piping hot!
