Spicy Chicken Bites

The season we enjoy the most is the monsoon season. With heavy rains and all those washed plants and lush greenery around, makes you fall in love with nature. While tea is a must with or without rain, any season but during Monsoon some crunchy, spicy snack with a cup of tea, while it pours warms our heart. Hot favorites in rainy season are pakoras and all kinds of deep fried snacks. There are different variations of favorite snacks and our hot favorites are these crunchy and spicy Chicken Bites. These are battered fried spicy chicken tossed in a tangy and spicy sauce making it a perfect combo for evening tea. Ingredients: For Chicken
  • 250 grams boneless chicken, cut in cubes
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Salt
For Batter
  • 6 TbspCornflour
  • 4 Tbsp All-purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ Cup Cold Water
  • Kisan Vegetable Oil for frying
Spicy Sauce
  • 4 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp Chili Garlic Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Hot Sauce (Sriracha Sauce)
  • ¼ tsp Red Chili powder
  • ½ tsp Honey
  • ¼ tsp Lemon Juice
  • Chopped Green Onion for Garnish
  • Shredded Cabbage for Garnish
Instructions
  1. For Chicken – Marinate the chicken with red chili powder, black pepper and salt for 10-15 minutes
  2. Prepare the Batter in a bowl mixing all the ingredients except oil. Make a thick batter adding cold water slowly to the dry ingredients ( don’t make the mixture too runny)
  3. In a wok heat Kisan Cooking Oil on medium heat. Coat Chicken pieces in the prepared batter and carefully add to hot oil (don’t over crowd). Cook the chicken pieces until crisp and golden.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for spicy sauce in a bowl. Taste check and adjust seasoning as per taste.
  5. Toss the fried chicken in spicy sauce until coated evenly.
  6. Plating – Make a bed of shredded cabbage, place coated chicken on it and garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
